Coffee Architects opened up in Leamington Spa’s popular Warwick Street at the beginning of August 2014. With their 1st anniversary upon us it seemed like a good time to reflect on the success of this humble coffee shop – but is it the best coffee shop in Leamington Spa? Well I can only give you my opinion on that!
When I first noticed the shop had been let and was a undergoing sparkly new shopfit, I’ll be honest that I didn’t hold out much hope. Over the years I’ve seen numerous businesses enter and leave the premises in fairly quick succession. However a year on and Coffee Architects are still with us and their business is thriving stronger than ever; they must be doing something good to turn around this white elephant!
Let’s start with the decor – think funky design highlights meets shabby chic and most importantly – it works, more than works, it looks great! The lovely thing about going to Coffee Architects over the last year is that the design has really matured into itself and during the warmer months it’s supplemented by a really cute garden and alleyway at the back of the shop.
Next up and the bit that really counts to me – the food! Coffee Architects’ opening hours (see here) cover your food and drink requirements from breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and a late afternoon snack. Primarily this is a coffee shop and on this note I can only praise their coffee as one of the best cups in Leamington. They really do try to cater for all dietary requirements whether you are omni, vegetarian, vegan, paleo, gluten intolerant or one of the many other variants with a diverse range of food on offer from clean eating to super naughty therefore, it’s clear to see their appeal.
I like trying new places but generally I need to experience something special to return. One of the key reasons I’ve kept going back is that there is no place like it. They manage to pull off food for all dietary choices without compromising on flavour – I’ve included some pictures of my favourite dishes. However, I would be doing them a disservice if I didn’t mention the quantity of freshly baked cakes and sweet treats on offer; simply phenomenal!
If you’re looking for somewhere with lots of room to pull up baby buggies and pushchairs, it probably isn’t ideal for you. The shop isn’t large and they try to maximise the use of their space due to it’s immense popularity, you can often arrive and there are no tables available. However, turnover is quick and you’ll be sat in no time, but if you are waiting I’d take the opportunity to browse the cake display! If you don’t have time to wait don’t worry, you are absolutely spoilt for choice in Leamington Spa with umpteen coffee shops, restaurants, juice bars and ice cream parlours (see here for my review of local parlours).
In my opinion Coffee Architects is one of my favourite places to eat and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it – I think what makes it my favourite is the freshness, diversity and quality of the food on offer. Although none of this would be possible without the vision and impeccable management of Sam and her very hardworking team – well done guys and I hope Coffee Architects is around for a long time to come!
Why not have a look at their Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or other reviews on TripAdvisor?
So do you agree? I’d love to hear what you think about Coffee Architects and Leamington Spa’s many other coffee shops!
Boo 💚
YES YES N YES! COFFEE ARCHITECTS IS WITHOUT DOUBT THE MOST AMAZING PLACE I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF DINING IN, FOOD IS AWSOME, STAFF ARE SUPER FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT DECOR IS FUNKY N FABULOUS, AMBIANCE S 100%. LOVE IT 😎
Can’t disagree that Coffee Architects looks lovely inside & out and the food looks amazing! (I have only sampled a croissant but it was yummy!)
But I visited on a Saturday lunch time and it was mayhem! The poor girl trying to keep up with coffee orders was having a breakdown and there was just way too much going on in a small place.
The coffee isn’t bad at all – certainly not as bitter as lots of places seem to be these days. But I would say try Spa Town Coffee, at the other end of Warwick Street, for the best coffee in Leam.
Coffee Architects probably has the best food in town. However, if you want the best coffee, go see Joe and Tina at Spa Town Coffee. I’ve had coffee in some amazing spots all over the world and I am not exaggerating when I say that these guys make the best I’ve ever had. My wife agrees with me and she’s from a prime coffee producing area of Mexico!
